orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Agus Rahardjo said that all political parties at the House of Representatives had members that were implicated in graft cases investigated by the antigraft body, as he responded to an accusation about the KPK's lack of impartiality leveled by lawmakers.
“We don’t exercise partiality in implementing our policies,” Agus told the House’s Commission III overseeing legal affairs in a House hearing on Tuesday. “I believe all parties have [members being investigated in graft cases].”
The accusation that the KPK has been selectively targeting certain political parties when carrying out its sting operations was raised by Commission III members, for example, Democratic Party lawmaker Benny Kabur Harman, during the hearing.

Over the years, lawmakers and regional councilors have represented the largest number of individuals investigated by the KPK, with 134 in total.
All 10 parties at the House have had at least one member involved in various graft cases since the KPK was established in 2003, most of whom have either been sent to jail or named suspects by KPK investigators.
At least four party leaders have also been implicated in various KPK investigations, with the latest being Setya Novanto, the Golkar Party chairman who has been named a suspect in the e-ID graft case. (ipa)
