s many as 5,453 personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police will secure the wedding of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s daughter Kahiyang Ayu and her fiance Bobby Afif Nasution in Surakarta, Central Java, on Nov. 8.

Around 8,000 invitations have been sent out for the event, which will be held at the Graha Saba Buana.

“The joint personnel will secure the President and Vice President, as well as other VVIP guests, including foreign ambassadors,” Diponegoro Military Commander Maj. Gen. Tatang Sulaiman said on Sunday.

He said security measures had been effective since last Saturday. Among the sites under scrutiny are the airport, train station, Jokowi’s residence, the reception venue and hotels.

Kahiyang and Bobby will also take part in a two-day Mandailing cultural procession called haroroan boru. The ceremony will be held by the groom’s family in North Sumatra from Nov. 24 to 25. “Some 100 relatives [from Bobby’s side] have departed for Surakarta to attend the wedding,” Bobby’s uncle Ridwan Lubis said on Saturday.
