Security upped in 13 strategic spots for Jokowi’s daughter’s wedding

undreds of security personnel, including police women’s officer corps (Polwan) and female Indonesian Military (TNI) members, are set to secure the wedding of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s daughter Kahiyang Ayu to Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, which will be held at Graha Saba Buana, Surakarta, on Wednesday.
Dozens of Polwan and female TNI personnel on Tuesday attended a call for readiness ceremony at Manahan Stadium before being dispatched to designated locations to carry out their security tasks.
Diponegoro IV Military Command chief Maj. Gen. Tatang Sulaiman led the ceremony, which took place at 6:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Tatang said thousands of police and military personnel would be divided into 13 task forces, in which each task force would secure one point. “There will be 13 monitoring and security points,” he said.
Strategic locations secured include Adi Sumarmo International Airport, train stations, the President's private residence on Jl. Kutai Utara, Sumber, Graha Saba Buana (the wedding venue), hotels and routes where distinguished wedding guests will pass. The route used in the horse coach procession carrying Kahiyang, Bobby and their immediate family will also be secured.
“We will provide friendly security measures that will not affect activities of Surakartans on the big day,” said Tatang.
He said 193 female TNI personnel would be part of the Presidential VVIP Security Task Force. Besides handling security-related matters, they will also serve as pager ayu (bridesmaids) and reception officers, among other things. (ebf)
