rivate lender Bank Central Asia (BCA) and low-cost carrier Indonesia AirAsia X have signed on Monday a B2B digital service cooperation agreement, under which the bank will allow AirAsia's travel agents to use its Klik Bisnis BCA cash management service.
BCA president director Jahja Setiaatmadja and Indonesia AirAsia X CEO Dendy Kurniawan signed the agreement on Monday in Jakarta.
The carrier's travel agents can deposit funds through the service, as long as they have an internet connection.
“People nowadays prefer a service which is practical and time-saving. We've seen the trend in all industries, including the travel industry. We have a commitment to help industry players gain access to practical, convenient and efficient financial solutions,” Jahja told reporters following Monday's signing.
Jahja said the bank had so far allocated Rp 3 trillion in capital expenditure this year to developing the Klik Bisnis BCA. “I think it’s important to follow the market trend,” he added.
Dendy also expressed his optimism that the agreement would benefit the two companies mutually.
“As a digital-based carrier, AirAsia strongly believes in the excellence of technology to improve our services for our customers. So, we hope that the deal can expand our partnership with travel agents,” he said.
More than 80,000 companies currently use Klik Bisnis BCA to conduct their businesses' financial activities, including private carrier Sriwijaya Air. (fny/bbn)
