Private lender Bank Mega launched a mobile application for its credit card holders in a move to boost fee-based transactions.
Bank Mega president director Kostaman Thayib said his company expected 20 percent of its 1.6 million cardholders to download the mobile app.
The app allows customers to check their latest transactions, billing information from the last three months and promo updates from partner merchants under the CT Corp conglomerate.
"With the declining interest rate, we hope the maps and promotion feature helps to encourage more [transactions] on the fee-based side," he said.
The bank has recorded up to Rp 2.5 trillion (US$175 million) in transactions per month this year and expects to close the year with Rp 30 trillion in total transactions.
The app will be upgraded later to allow for funds and limit increase requests, loan applications and bill payments. The app will also be integrated with an e-banking system down the line. (sha/bbn)
