on-profit organization Smexindo-Induk UMKM will facilitate 15 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to take part in the Bahrain International Garden Show, a platform for developing best agricultural practices, which will open on Feb. 21, 2018 and run through Feb. 25 in Manama, Bahrain.

SMEs from several areas across the archipelago, such as Bali, Tulung Agung in East Java, Cirebon in West Java and Jakarta will showcase their agricultural products and gardening equipment at the event, which expects the participation of 200 exhibitors from 22 countries.

The Bahrain government and the ASEAN Bahrain Council are supporters of the event.

“We hope this event will help promote the products of Indonesia’s SMEs to reach the global market,” said Induk UMKM chairman Hariadi Saptadji at an event in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Smexindo, which oversees several business sectors – agriculture, furniture and handicrafts, processed foods, fisheries and industry – is part of Induk UMKM Indonesia, an umbrella organization for SMEs.

Smexindo has representative offices in 11 countries: Bahrain, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mumbai, Myanmar, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. The group works to pave the way for SME products to enter the international market.

In its effort to tap the potential of the Middle Eastern market for Indonesian SMEs, Smexindo has partnered with SRAM & MRAM Resources Company WLL, an international conglomerate that operates in five continents. The company plans to establish Garuda City, a marketplace for Indonesian SMEs in Bahrain. (fny/bbn)
