akarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno says he has yet to receive a summons from the Jakarta Police in relation to a case of land embezzlement, in which a colleague has been implicated.
“I haven’t received any letter today but there has been communication with the City Hall’s legal team because they need to be involved in this matter. God willing, we will clarify it this evening,” Sandiaga said on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
He gave an assurance that he would cooperate with the legal process in the case.
“I certainly will be cooperative and assure you there is nothing to hide. All is squeaky clean,” Sandiaga added.
Sandiaga is reportedly being summoned because the suspect in the case, Andreas Tjahjadi, is his business colleague.
Investigators from the police general crime unit have scheduled an examination of Sandiaga for Thursday. He will be questioned as a witness in the case involving alleged land embezzlement and money laundering.
According to the police, Sandiaga missed questioning on Oct. 11 last year. His lawyer at that time asked for the questioning to be postponed to allow for his inauguration ceremony as deputy governor. (wnd)
