inancial services company Visa Inc. has appointed Riko Abdurrahman as the president director of its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Visa Worldwide Indonesia.

“We are glad to have Riko in our team. He has excellent management and leadership skills as well as deep understanding of the Indonesian financial services landscape,” Visa group country manager for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Stephen Karpin said in a statement earlier this week.

Karpin said he expected Riko to improve the company’s relationship with clients and expand the use of electronic payments in Indonesia.

Previously, Riko Abdurrahman was the president and director of Metrobank Card Corporation Inc. overlooking 3,500 employees. He has worked in the financial field for more than 20 years, including in cards, management, consumer finance and sharia banking.

Riko also worked at TransUnion Philippines, ANZ Bank, ABN AMRO Bank and Citibank.

Meanwhile, Riko said the company had a great opportunity to improve financial inclusion for the benefit of clients, business owners and the government and to push Indonesia toward a cashless society.

“I am happy to join Visa and to lead our business in Indonesia. I am looking forward to working with very talented team members to strengthen our cooperation with clients and to improve the electronic payment system,” Riko said. (ami/bbn)
