Two people lost their lives after a fire razed their house in East Pademangan, North Jakarta, early on Saturday morning.

The fire, which started at around 5 a.m., was suspected to be caused by a short circuit.

“The victims were identified as 47-year-old Ridwan and 66-year-old Margaretha,” said Irfan, an official from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency, as quoted by Tempo.co.

The agency deployed 10 fire trucks and 30 firefighters to tackle the blaze. The fire was under control around an hour later. (jlm)
