he Kuwaiti Embassy in Jakarta launched the Diwaniyah Kuwait event on Tuesday evening to foster closer ties between Indonesia and the Arab world toward common welfare and progress.
Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdulwahab Abdullah Al Sager hosted a dinner at the embassy to mark the launch, which was preceded by discussions among guests on various issues in a relaxed manner.
The diwaniyah is a feature of Kuwaiti political culture in which people sit together to discuss various things.
Envoys from most of the Arab world, such as Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, attended the launch, as well as the Foreign Ministry’s protocol director, Akio Alfiano Tamala, and the Jakarta Police officer who oversees the security of foreign embassies, Comr. Endang Wahyu Kinasih.
