Ihsan Maulana Mustofa secured the win by defeating Antonio Li 21-6 and 21-8 within 22 minutes of the third match of a best-of-five battle.
In two previous matches, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting beat Jason Anthony Ho-Shue 21-11 and 21-18, while veteran duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan outclassed Jonathan Bing Tsai Lai and Duncan Yao 21-8 and 21-15 in just 18 minutes.
In Indonesia’s two remaining matches, the country’s shuttlers were also too powerful for Canada as pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto beat Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura 21-17 and 21-14, while Firman Abdul Kholik defeated Paul-Antoine Dostie-Guindon 21-8 and 21-11 in the closing match for the day.
