T

he management of Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, will provide mobile check-in facilities for airline passengers to anticipate the surge of passengers ahead of the Idul Fitri mass exodus.

The facility will be available at airport terminal 1C, which serves domestic flights during the holiday peak season, a few days before Idul Fitri, which is expected to fall on June 15, state-owned PT Angkasa Pura II (AP 2) airport operator announced.

The airport's branch communications and legal senior manager Erwin Revianto said the facility aimed to ease the crowd, as he predicted there would be a long line of passengers at the check-in desk.

He said the facility offered was similar to the self check-in facility, which was already installed at Indonesia's busiest airport.

Some customer service officers will be deployed to help operate devices and approach passengers waiting in line. They will be able to print the tickets from the machine.

"The officers will offer the mobile check-in service to passengers. It aims to accelerate the check-in process," Erwin said as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com. (fac)
