Jakarta councillors have reportedly decided against giving the Idul Fitri bonus (THR) to experts working for the City Council.

The experts deplored the councillors’ decision to not give them the bonus because of their status as contract workers.

“The speakers and councillors’ [decided not to] give us the THR. We’re so disappointed,” a representative of the experts, Ahmad Sulhy, said on Sunday as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

Besides the THR, the experts also complained about the salary they received as it has not increased since 2014.

They said their salary was way below civil servant pay.

Ahmad said the experts had reported the issue to the governor and deputy governor.

Idul Fitri is expected to fall on June 15 and 16. (cal)
