ocal coworking space company EV Hive announced Tuesday it rebranded itself as Cocowork amid plans to expand to more cities in the country.
Cocowork CEO and cofounder Carlson Lau said Cocowork would add eight more coworking spaces, adding to the current 21 spaces.
“We will have more coworking spaces in other cities like Makassar, Yogyakarta and Bandung. We see the cities have potential as they are home to many small and medium enterprises, other entrepreneurs and young people,” Carlson said on Tuesday.
Cocowork stands for community, collaboration and workspace. Carlson said the new name reflected the company’s commitment to the core premise of a coworking space.
With the new name, Carlson said he hoped the company would be able to expand its business to a wider range of communities.
“Our company has its roots in the startup industry, but we believe that the coworking concept is relevant and beneficial to many other types of businesses in Indonesia,” he said.
Established in 2015, Cocowork operates 20 coworking spaces in Greater Jakarta and one in Medan. (bbn)
