ndonesia's youth soccer team defeated Thailand in a penalty shootout to win the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-16 Championship on Saturday.
The host team claimed the title after winning 4-3 in the shootout, after the match ended 1-1.
In the match held at Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia’s Fajar Fathur Rachman put the host ahead after scoring in the 34th minute.
In the second half, Thailand got an equalizer through an Apidet Janngam shot in the 73rd minute.
The match remained drawn with Indonesia winning in the shootout.
