Telecommunications company Indosat Ooredoo announced on Wednesday that president director Joy Wahyudi had resigned, however he would continue to work for the company in some capacity.

“We will still work with him to ensure the transition takes place smoothly,” said Ooredoo Group CEO HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani in a statement.
Nasser said Joy’s resignation was part of the company’s plan to welcome the “golden period” of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia.
He said the structural change at Indosat Ooredoo was an opportunity for the company to grow.
“We express our gratitude for his valuable contribution while holding the top position at Indosat Ooredoo,” Nasser said as quoted by kontan.co.id.
Joy’s replacement has not been announced, however the company is scheduled to hold an extraordinary shareholders meeting on Oct. 17 to discuss its leadership and transformation. (bbn)
