hose reading our article on Transjakarta’s free-of-charge culinary bus service should read on to discover bakeries they can explore along the route.

After being dropped off at Gedung Arsip Nasional, Sawah Besar, or Harmoni station, you can pick another mode of transportation to find these bakeries located between the areas of Hayam Wuruk and Sawah Besar. In addition to the delicacies they all offer, some of the bakeries are must-visit legendary places.

Henis

One of the oldest bakeries and restaurants on Jl. Mangga Besar Raya, Henis has many loyal fans. Two of its recommended items are roti ayam bakso (chicken meatball bread), a small bun with minced meat filling, and soto mie (noodle soup).

Starting price: Rp 9,000 (less than US$1) for bread

Suisse Bakery

Besides traditional pastries like bika Ambon and lapis Surabaya, this bakery also serves Western-style bread that many people love, such as corn bread, long john and chocolate buns.

Starting price: Rp 8,000

 

Stelette

Near the Mangga Besar train station people can discover Stelette. Decorated in pink and white colors, this bakery has a diverse range of cakes and bread on offer. Aside from a colorful birthday or wedding cake, other must-tries include the banana split bread, which contains melted chocolate, banana and a whole lot of cheese.

Delicious Bakery

Situated in the Hayam Wuruk area, this bakery offers bread and cake with a signature taste that stays the same for years. Some of its notable items are coconut bread, long john and meat-flavored bread, such as chicken floss bread and meatball bread.

Clover Bakeshoppe

Located near the Sawah Besar intersection, Clover Bakeshoppe is famous for its pudding cake served with sweet, but not too creamy frosting. Flavor range from chocolate to various fruits. It also offers various kinds of small bread bakery.

Starting price: Rp 160,000 for medium-sized tart
