ant to visit your family back in your hometown this Idul Fitri but can’t bear the traffic? Perhaps you should consider taking a helicopter and fly there instead.

Whitesky Aviation offers an alternative for the mudik (Idul Fitri exodus) journey to help those who don’t want to take the likely long drive and get stuck with other vehicles on the road.

By paying Rp 16.5 million (US$1,256) for a trip on July 1 to 12, those who want to mudik to Bandung can fly from Jakarta in a helicopter with a promo called Helicity. If the usual trip takes approximately 3 hours by car, passengers can significantly slash that time by using the chopper to reach the mountainous city in West Java.

“We are providing a solution for those who want to take the exodus to Bandung because most people will be on the road during those dates close to Idul Fitri,” Helicity head of business Ari Nurwanda told tempo.co.

Ari said based on last years’ experience, many people found they were limited in the type of transport they could utilize during mudik. By using this air taxi, travelers have an additional option to reach their hometown.

He added that Helicity can take three or four journeys a day starting from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. The company has allocated two helicopters for this special promo, which are only valid for the Jakarta-Bandung route. In Jakarta, the chopper will depart and land in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, while the stopping point in Bandung will be at Ledeng.
