ans of the 1990s US sitcom Friends will soon be able to relive their memories at a Singaporean remake of the show’s popular café, Central Perk.
Slated to start operations on Nov. 24 in Central Mall, Singapore, the café will be designed after the oh-so-popular coffee shop with the same name frequented by the six main characters of the show, namely Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer).

In addition to the café, Central Perk will also provide an extension with areas that resemble studio sets, which are to include an indoor version of New York Streets, a F.R.I.E.N.D.S. corner that features characters-themed wall, as well as icon-themed furniture. The project is expected to take up more than 307 square meters of floor space.
The idea to create Central Perk Singapore came from Lim Jit Min. Lim, an avid lover of Friends who watched all the episodes about 10 times altogether over the years and quit his job to build the café with his friends, Vulcan Post reported. (kes)
