span style="line-height: 1.6em;">The 20th annual Nusa Dua Fiesta will take place from Nov. 16-20 and will feature a whole host of festivities in Bali’s luxurious tourist area located on the island’s southern peninsula.

Created by the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the event will feature five main activities: music, competitions, cultural shows, exhibitions and sports.

Held for the first time in 1996, the event aims to boost Nusa Dua as a top tourist destination by presenting a gamut of Indonesian cultures through live performances and art exhibitions.

"We hope the event this year will include more local talent and creativity. That's why we host a competition that is open to the public for people to design logos and products to promote Nusa Dua," said ITDC operational director Ngurah Wirawan.

The design competition, which runs until Oct. 20, is expected to attract local artists to help promote Nusa Dua's new brand "Pesona Nusa Dua" (Nusa Dua Charms).

The highlight of this year’s event is a live performance by legendary Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. As one of the top selling artists in history, Iglesias has sold 300 million albums around the world in up to 14 different languages and received a multitude of certified gold and platinum records. The audience can expect to indulge in his mellow voice and everlasting romantic hits.

The fiesta will also include a plethora of activities, such as body painting, a zero waste fun walk, cross culture cycling and running, farmers’ market exhibitions, food trucks and traditional dances. (kes)
