ustralia's flag carrier Qantas has opened its new international lounge at Brisbane Airport to cater to its business class passengers and frequent flyers.
The two-storey lounge is said to be more spacious than before, with an interior inspired by the Queensland landscape and a contemporary glass and light art installation created by Jenna Lee as the highlight. In addition to healthy breakfast options and hot buffet, the venue offers non-alcohol drinks like Bickfords and Buderim Ginger, as well as a bar serving craft beer, wine and Vittoria Coffee. Passengers can also take a bath or work using the WiFi connection available at the lounge.
"Queensland is one of our most important markets; almost 60 international flights directly fly from Brisbane every week," said Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans in a press release, adding that the company also planned to open new routes to Japan and New Zealand and redesign the airport's domestic terminal lounge.
The airline currently serves flights from Jakarta to Brisbane via Sydney four times a week, as well as a direct daily flight from Singapore to Brisbane. (kes)
