ourism-related state-owned enterprises (SOEs) will create a shared portal to cooperatively market hotels and tourist destinations in the country.
Aiming to help tourists searching for travel information, particularly about Indonesia’s 10 premier destinations, the exploreIndonesia portal is set to be launched on Dec. 12.
Director of Pertamina's hotel operator Patra Jasa, Haryo Yunianto, told kompas.com that exploreIndonesia would help to improve tourism and would feature information about major tourist spots, airlines, hotels and costs.

The government-backed Hotel Indonesia Group (HIG) network will connect to the new digital portal, despite having its own portal. Though SOEs currently have 97 hotels under their wings, the HIG managed only 36 hotels, said HIG director Iswandi Said.
Iswandi added that he hoped the hotels would collaborate on promotions, marketing, service improvement and developing human resources.
The tourism portal itself, which will be maintain by Patra Jasa in cooperation with the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), plans to involve other state-owned enterprises in related areas, such as state-owned ship operator PT Pelni and state-owned railway company PT KAI. (wir/kes)
