he Pesona Tambora (Tambora Charms) festival is set to return in April to Dompu regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), to commemorate the mountain’s massive eruption on April 11, 1815.
Tempo.co reported that this year's event would include the hoisting of 202 Merah Putih flags at the peak of Mount Tambora.
Head of the event initiator Dompu Nature Lovers Communication Forum, Rifad Cimin, said that the number of flags was in accordance with the 202 years since Mount Tambora erupted, adding that they would put the flags at the lip of the caldera on April 11.
