battle map inspired by the Ampera Bridge in Palembang has been included in online first-person shooter Point Blank, a multiplayer video game developed by South Korean company Zepetto.
The head of the South Sumatra Tourism and Culture Agency, Irene Camelyn Sinaga, said that she felt proud regarding the presence of the Ampera Bridge in the online game as it would gain the attention of online gamers.
“There’s even an international tournament for this game so it is sort of free promotion for us,” said Irene.

The 1-kilometer long and 22-meter wide bridge was first introduced in Point Blank on March 21. It is the longest map in the game and includes plenty of secret passages.
Robby Sunata, the head of Indonesian Charms Generation (GenPI) in South Sumatra, started a hashtag #banggamaindiampera on social media and is currently creating a Point Blank poster competition for the Ampera map on social media.
“We are going to do this for two days to pique the interest of social media users with the keyword ‘PB maps Ampera’” said Robby. (kes)
