o commemorate Indonesia’s 72nd Independence Day, a fish cooking competition will be held by three ministries in collaboration with primarasa.co.id.
The event, titled Archipelago Fish Cooking Competition, is part of the Fish and Eating Fish Festival held from Aug. 1 to 17.

Prior to the event, contests will be held across 11 cities, namely in Biak, Papua, on July 11, Batam in Riau Islands on July 16, Gorontalo on July 18 and eight other places in West Sumatra, West Kalimantan, West Java, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara and South Sulawesi. From the contests, 30 finalists will be chosen to take part in the cooking competition.
“We will then choose the top 10 to compete in Jakarta. The three winners will get the opportunity to cook for President Jokowi,” said Health Minister Nila Moeloek.
“This festival is open to all Indonesian citizens. We’re looking for the best cook that can come up with a delicious and nutritious seafood dish,” she added. (kes)
