Tourism Minister Arief Yahya officially launched the 2017 Tour de Flores (TdF) on Wednesday.
The event will begin on July 14 and finish on July 19 in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Cyclists will start in Larantuka district and finish at Labuan Bajo.

“This year’s TdF will be different from previous years. Other than the sporting event, it will also feature a cultural festival and Instagram photo competition,” said Arief.
Up to 20 teams are set to compete at the event, including 17 foreign teams from the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, Thailand and Malaysia.
Throughout the six-day event, cyclists will have to race through a 721.6 kilometer route, which will be divided into six legs: Larantuka – Maumere (138.5 kilometers), Maumere – Ende (141.3 kilometers), Ende – Mbay (111 kilometers), Mbay – Borong (151 kilometers), Borong – Ruteng (58 kilometers) and Ruteng – Labuan Bajo (121.5 kilometers).
