tate-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) is set to hold its first-ever travel fair, featuring discounted executive train tickets, at the Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on July 29-30.
According to kompas.com, over 600,000 executive train tickets with departure dates from Aug. 7 to Oct. 31 will be sold at up to 72 percent discount during the fair. For example, visitors can expect to purchase executive train tickets for the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route for only Rp 125,000 (US$9.37), which normally would cost more than Rp 300,000.

“Let’s make the most of this first travel fair to hunt for executive train tickets with special discounts. Hopefully there will be more citizens who can enjoy traveling by train,” said PT KAI president director Edi Sukmoro as quoted by Antara news agency.
Aside from providing tickets at a special price, the event is also set to feature train ticket auctions and special offers by official KAI partners, such as state-owned banks, travel website operators Traveloka and Tiket.com, as well as hotels and children’s entertainment centers.
The fair is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with an admission fee of Rp 10,000. (mas/kes)
