F

ollowing the Komodo Festival 2017 which was held in February, West Manggarai regency is set to hold Komodo Carnival 2017 in Labuan Bajo on July 29.

The festival will feature a lot of activities that cater to general interests. Those who love doing sport activities can participate in Fun Running 5k and Beach Zumba. For culture and music enthusiasts there will be Caci Dance Festival involving a thousand dancers and Music Festival. The food scene will be represented by a culinary festival.

In the evening, Indonesian reggae musician Tony Q Rastafara is going to perform at Batu Cermin Beach as well as DJ performance by DJ Yasmin.

Tourism Ministry's Archipelago Marketing Development deputy Esthy Reko Astuti expressed her gratitude for the regency’s administration who has been consistent in preserving tourist attractions in Labuan Bajo. Moreover, Esthy said to always keep tourist attractions in Labuan Bajo clean and safe.

Tourism minister, Arief Yahya also calls for tourists to post their Labuan Bajo visit on social media, "There are already many world figures who made Labuan Bajo viral in social media. Its nature, local culture, and tradition are great to explore. There are still a lot of photo and video spots which are not explored yet. Feel free to take exclusive pictures with the amazing backdrops."

Labuan Bajo is listed in one of tourism ministry’s 10 Priority Destinations program along with Lake Toba, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, Thousand Islands, Borobudur Temple, Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru, Mandalika, Wakatobi and Morotai. (asw)
