The 2017 Korea Festival is set to return on Sept. 21- 24 at Lotte Shopping Avenue in South Jakarta.

Organized by Korea Tourism Organization Jakarta (KTO Jakarta) in collaboration with the Korean Association in Indonesia, the annual event will feature various activities, including K-pop cover dance competition, taekwondo performance by Indonesian delegation team, Korean percussion music Samulnori, as well as performances by Korean non-verbal acts The Painters: Hero and School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA).

In addition to the aforementioned performances, kompas.com reported that the festival would also feature South Korean traditional attire hanbok fashion show, K-food cooking demo, K-beauty demo and Korean food products exhibition. Local singers Rizky Febian and Calvin Jeremy are also scheduled to perform at the event.

Meanwhile, a photo stand will be available for those wanting to take a picture in hanbok.

KTO Jakarta MICE and event manager Faezal Akhmed said the event aims to introduce South Korea from various aspects, including tourism and business. 

He added that the 2017 Korea Festival is set to open with the making of giant bibimbap (Korean mixed rice), aiming to attract visitors. (jes/kes)
