West Java airport slated to operate in February 2018

The airport itself, which located in Kertajati in Majalengka regency, has been developed since December 2015 and is expected to operate by February 2018 under the management of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II.

uningan regency in West Java celebrated its 519th anniversary on Oct. 1. The celebration, which took place in Cijemit village soccer field in Ciniru district, featured a wayang (shadow puppet) performance by Ki Dalang Wawan Ajen.

Tourism Ministry's secretary Ukus Kuswara who attended the event had called on the audience to get ready to welcome tourists as the construction of West Java International Airport (BIJB) will be done soon.

“The locals should participate in promoting Kuningan's culture and natural attractions,” said Ukus.

The airport itself, which located in Kertajati in Majalengka regency, has been developed since December 2015 and is expected to operate by February 2018 under the management of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II.

Following its opening, the airport will serve as the entrance gate to destinations across West Java, such as Majalengka, Kuningan, Cirebon, Indramayu and Kuningan. (kes)
