Indonesia to participate in ITB Asia 2017 in Singapore

Indonesia will boast the traditional Phinisi boat design on its booth, moreover there will be 90 tourism industry players who will take part in the event.

Indonesia is once again taking part in the upcoming ITB Asia 2017 Singapore travel event that will be held on October 25 – 27.

“The Business to Business (B2B) forum is still our priority,” said tourism ministry's Southeast Asia tourism promotion assistant deputy, Rizki Handayani.

Rizki added that Indonesia is a regular participant in the ITB Asia events in Singapore and this year marks the 10th times this event is being held.

The event is organized by Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin (ITB) who holds the biggest travelmart event in the world every year.

Indonesia will boast the traditional Phinisi boat design on its booth, moreover there will be 90 tourism industry players who will take part in the event.

They are all coming from places such as Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Papua, West Papua.

There will also be another 74 industry players acting as co-delegates and six tourism departments from Aceh, West Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, South Sumatra, Central Java and South Sulawesi.

Moreover, visitors will be served with Indonesian coffee, spa corner by Sariayu Martha Tilaar, Virtual Reality (VR) 360 corner, demo corner by Prijadi K. and VIP corner.

“Tourism ministry receives one spot for the Destination Showcase event on the 26th at 01:30 p.m. – 02:00 p.m. in Presentation Hub, Marina Bay Sands.

Danau Toba Authority Board president director Arie Prasetyo will take up the spot to talk about Tourism Development Investment Opportunities [in] Lake Toba,” Rizki added.

Singapore is one of the biggest contributors of overseas tourists to Indonesia. In 2015, Indonesia welcomed 1,571,982 Singaporean tourists and it went up to 1,800,000 in 2016. For this year, from January until August, Indonesia has welcomed 939,231 people.
