Facebook post by Lithuanian traveler Erika Boo in which she shared how she was looking for a local who had helped her out during her trip to Yogyakarta last September has gone viral since last week.

On the platform, Boo said that she got lost during her stay in the city. “I was close to the bird market and needed to get to the train station. However, I didn’t have a map and decided to follow my heart, hoping it would lead me there,” read the post as quoted by kompas.com.

After realizing that “her heart is not so good at orientation”, Boo decided to ask around before eventually meeting Abdul Hakim, a Yogyakartan who happened to be shopping near where Boo was at. “He gave me directions, but at the end he didn’t let me go alone. He lent a lovely lila-helmet from the shop and dropped me right to the train station. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but he told me he lives close to the train station. […] I felt at the end very happy, because he saved my day (and it was my b-day)," said Boo, who also added a picture of the two on a motorcycle.

After the post went viral, in less than 24 hours Boo was able to meet Abdul. “You helped me to find him! Thank you so much for sharing and helping! Jogja istimewa [Jogja is extraordinary],” read Boo’s update on her latest post on Jan. 22.

The updated post has been shared by 124 users and has received more 300 comments and 1,000 likes.

“I am looking forward to meeting the superhero from Yogya, a.ka Hakim, again, this time also [with] his lovely wife and their sweet baby!” Boo wrote on Jan. 28, then admitting that she got more than 500 private messages and over 1,000 friendship requests. (wir/kes)
