Garuda Indonesia's low-cost subsidiary Citilink will launch a new route from Semarang in Central Java to Surabaya in East Java on Tuesday.
As reported by kompas.com, the new service will utilize the Airbus A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 180 passengers.
According to the schedule, the airline's flight QG807 will depart from Semarang at 6:55 p.m. and land in Surabaya at 8 p.m. Meanwhile the return flight QG806 will fly from Surabaya at 8:30 p.m. and arrive in Semarang at 9:30 p.m.
Citilink Indonesia commercial director Andy Adrian said on Monday the airline expected the new route to contribute to the tourism sector as well as the two cities' business growth.
"In terms of tourism and business, both cities have their own signatures, such as Sam Poo Kong Temple in Semarang and Cheng Ho Mosque in Surabaya," said Andy. (kes)
