Citilink Indonesia, the low-cost subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia, has been named the most punctual airline in Southeast Asia.

According to a monthly report released by the Official Airline Guide (OAG) in April, Citilink recorded an on-time performance (OTP) of 89.02 percent from a total of 8,590 flights last month, meaning that most Citilink flights arrive or depart under 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival or departure times.

The airline was followed by Singapore-based budget airline Scoot with an OTP of 85.4 percent and Garuda Indonesia with an OTP of 85.1 percent.

Citilink vice president corporate secretary and corporate social responsibility (CSR) manager Ranty Astari Rachman said in a press release that the airline had climbed in the monthly reports, revealing that in January, Citilink was ranked 14th with an OTP of 80.7 percent from 7,445 flights.

Ranty also said that Citilink’s high OTP was among its efforts to provide passengers with top-quality service while also prioritizing safety.

The low-cost subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia previously received a 4-Star Low-cost Airline rating by Skytrax in February.

“These awards have motivated us to improve [our performance] in the future, as [we want to deliver] the best services for all passengers,” said Ranty. (jes/kes)
