ubricant manufacturer Castrol Indonesia has had extensive and intensive experience in the Indonesian market over the last 20 years. It is always striving to connect with not only its customers, but also the motor vehicle mechanics that use its products in their day-to-day jobs.
Castrol Indonesia’s key strategic partners are these mechanics, as they are equipped with the necessary skills to apply the brand’s products to discerning customers.
To celebrate our skilled mechanics, therefore, the company has just announced the 2018 edition of its annual Castrol Asia Pacific Cars Super Mechanic Contest, which will be held on Sept. 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and where Indonesian mechanics are more than welcome. The participants will be challenged during the competition to showcase their skills before a large audience.
Each participating country is now training its best mechanics to win the Castrol Cars Super Mechanic of the Year title at the upcoming contest. The competition strives to be a training ground for mechanics to boost their technical skills, as well as a talent discovery platform for Castrol to identify the best mechanics across the region.
Castrol Indonesia country marketing manager Deananda Sudijono said the competition reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing the expertise and skills of motor vehicle mechanics, particularly those that use the Castrol brand.
“The upcoming event will also be a chance for Indonesia to prove that it has many highly skilled motor vehicle mechanics,” said Deananda.
Last year’s Super Mechanic Contest saw the participation of 80,000 mechanics from six countries, with Vietnam’s mechanics winning the top prize.
Waras Utomo, one of the 2017 winning mechanics, said that in joining the contest, he also gained the opportunity to observe how other skilled mechanics work and thereby improve his own skills.
“The contest is an opportunity for us to learn straight from the experts, along with the members of various mechanics communities, on the latest technologies in automotive engines, as well as the customer service and professional management skills necessary to running auto shops. After the contest, I’ve been able to apply these newly acquired skills to boost my daily income as a result,” Waras said.
“We hope the mechanics that join this year’s contest will also be able to hone their skills and provide even better quality service to their customers,” said Deananda.
