Natural disaster survivors celebrate togetherness during Ramadan, thanks to ABC

T Heinz ABC Indonesia (Heinz ABC) with ABC brand, a staple in many Indonesian households since 1975, continues its social aid program during Ramadan.
The Gerakan ABC Berbagi Kebersamaan Ramadan social movement aims to help families affected by natural disasters in various regions.
According to data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), from Jan. 1 to March 31, Indonesia experienced more than 800 natural disasters, which affected 4.13 million people, mostly living in Java.
"We have seen continuing challenging situations during this pandemic for Indonesian families and Ramadan has just started. The first quarter of 2021 has been a challenging period for Indonesia in many areas, especially Java, which has been hit by natural disasters while at the same time the pandemic continues,” said Steven Debrabandere, president director of Heinz ABC Indonesia.
He went on to say, “Through this social movement we aim to support unfortunate Indonesian families that have been impacted by the natural disasters, during the holy month. Therefore, Ramadan is the right time to continue our commitment to a better Indonesia and we invite all Indonesians to support this movement.”
Moreover, Debrabandere explained that people could participate in this movement by buying ABC products at Alfamart and Alfamidi outlets.
For every purchase of an ABC product, consumers will help Heinz ABC donate Rp1,000 to strengthen togetherness among Indonesian families affected by natural disasters.
The program began on April 1 and will run through May 15. Donations will be distributed by Foodbank of Indonesia.
"As one of the leading brands in the food industry, ABC believes that we need to support each other and ensure that all Indonesian families can celebrate togetherness with their families in the month of Ramadan," Debrabandere concluded.
