krillex made his return to Indonesia eventful as he stunned the audience of Dragonfly in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/01/2023) to kick off the club's 2023 season. Fans were eager to see his performance at the world-renowned establishment, his first time back in four years. It also marked his second Southeast Asia performance in the new year.
Skrillex has won eight Grammy Awards; more than any other electronic dance music artist. He has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Diplo and Boys Noize to name a few, and has amassed a large following in Indonesia as well.
Operated by Ismaya Group, Dragonfly has long been a favorite for party goers and is known for its spectacular parties since it first opened its doors in 2004. Dragonfly has been awarded Best Nightlife Venue and was featured in the Top 100 Clubs in the world by mondo*dr Awards, DJ Mag and more. As was expected on Wednesday, the night was opened by resident DJs Joyo and Devarra, accompanied by MC drwe, before Skrillex took the stage.
"The energy last night at Dragonfly was amazing, having Skrillex here in Jakarta after we have been waiting for four long years felt surreal. A show to remember," said Talitha Gabrielle, marketing manager of Dragonfly, ISMAYA Group.
She further added, "We are on a mission to acquaint and reinforce Dragonfly as the ultimate luxury nightlife destination by presenting a stellar line-up with legendary international DJs to create an unforgettable experience for our valued guests and Jakarta’s partygoers. Not only that, to strengthen the visibility of our brand, we are constantly taking creative approaches to all our thematic party events."
Skrillex’s stellar performance was further amplified by Dragonfly's unrivaled audio system and lighting. The cutting-edge sound system and its spacious dance floor were some of the components that has helped Dragonfly remain one of the designated go-to spots for Jakarta's younger generation and EDM-enthusiasts.
After waiting for four years, loyal fans were treated to the iconic Skrillex’ top remixes, as well as his newly released track “Rumble”, which came out earlier this month. Partygoers kept the party going from his first set at 12.30 a.m., to his last performance of the night. The performance set the tone for a great new season, as the club promises more international DJs and exciting "Instagram-worthy" themed parties in the near future.
