Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri celebrates 2nd anniversary

T

he Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri in Tangerang recently celebrated its second anniversary alongside the launch of the Breast Cancer Center for Health Innovation and Research.

The event was graced with live performances by Adera and a fashion show featuring cancer survivors from the CISC Indonesia community. There was also a scarf exhibition and an auction organized by SROJA, with the proceeds donated to the CISC cancer community.

Dr. Ben Widaja, the president director of Mandaya Hospital Group, explained the various innovations and achievements made over the last two years. Among the 180,000 patients treated, 1,500 had tumors or cancer and 720 of them had undergone chemotherapy, including for breast cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer and various other cancers from different provinces in Indonesia and even abroad.

"We receive many patients from outside Jakarta, aligning with our vision to provide a specialized cancer hospital, particularly for breast cancer, thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, blood cancer and cervical cancer. At Mandaya Advanced Cancer Center, almost all diagnostic and cancer therapy procedures can be performed, including minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, 3D radiotherapy and brachytherapy, supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialist oncologists, including several professors and leading experts in the field of cancer such as Prof. Aru, Prof. Tati and Prof. Toar," said Dr. Ben Widaja.

Dr. Ben Widaja also highlighted some of the latest technologies, some of which were the first and only of their kind in Indonesia. These included specialized cancer laboratory tests capable of detecting early-stage colorectal cancer from a blood sample using the advanced Molecular Septin-9 method, pharmacogenetic testing to determine a patient's response to cancer drugs like chemotherapy, allowing for effective dosing and reducing side effects and nuclear medicine for advanced-stage prostate cancer patients using Lutetium-177, all of which are available at Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri.

The cancer services at Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri have also been strengthened by the success of many stage IV cancer patients who have undergone chemotherapy or immunotherapy and have been declared cancer-free after PET-SCAN diagnostic tests.

"This is our collective hope. While early-stage cancer has a very high cure rate, reaching 100 percent, for advanced-stage patients, don't give up just yet. Allow us at Mandaya to care for you, your parents, your relatives and your friends. There is always a miracle behind the spirit of patients and the support of their loved ones, and at Mandaya, we have proven that," concluded Erwin, the marketing director of Mandaya Hospital Group.

The second anniversary celebration of Mandaya was attended by several prominent health insurance representatives, including from Prudential, Allianz, Manulife, AIA, Panin Daichi, Astra, Garda Medika Astra Buana, Sequis Life, Admedika, MSIG and Sinarmas, who support the advancement of healthcare technology in Indonesia to compete on a global scale. This collaboration is highly beneficial for cancer patients in need of extended treatment, allowing them to receive care in Indonesian hospitals close to their families while reducing the burden of accommodation and high treatment costs.
