s we approach the end of 2023, many married couples are planning to have children. This is because the upcoming year 2024 is the Year of the Wooden Dragon in the Chinese calendar, believed to be a special time for giving birth and having children. Why is that so? In light of this phenomenon, Eka Hospital Group held a public seminar, The Lucky Dragon Baby, on Nov. 5, 2023, at RSIA Grand Family, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) in Jakarta, for prospective parents wishing to have a child in the Year of the Dragon.
The seminar featured three speakers: Dr. Ferdhy Suryadi Suwandinata, Sp.OG (K-FER) and Dr. Febriyan Nicolas, Sp.OG both specialist obstetricians and gynecologists from RSIA Grand Family who discussed issues related to infertility, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and Mr. Zhang, a Chinese Metaphysics Practitioner, who spoke about calculations and characteristics related to the birth of a baby with the Dragon zodiac sign.
In his presentation, Dr. Nicolas spoke on the theme Are you infertile? What's the problem? by addressing infertility as a challenge that can be experienced by any couple. Infertility is defined as the inability of a couple to conceive after regular sexual intercourse for one year. "Infertility can result from various factors, both from the male and female sides. One essential factor is age; if you and your partner are under 30, you should see a doctor after trying for a year, if you are aged 35-40, consult a doctor after 6 months and for those above 40, it's advisable not to wait and check your fertility with your partner immediately," Dr. Nicolas says.
Dr. Ferdhy added to the seminar with the topic IUI or IVF? Which is right for you? discussing the choice between IUI and IVF for a successful pregnancy. He emphasized that every couple had a chance to conceive, so it was essential to undergo an examination to determine the cause. From there, a personalized pregnancy program could be designed, whether that be insemination or IVF, as each couple faces different issues and success rates.
On Feb. 4, 2024, at 16:28, the Year of the Wooden Dragon will begin, marking the ideal time to give birth to a child. According to Chinese tradition, the Year of the Wooden Dragon is considered the best time to welcome a child into the world due to the qualities associated with the legendary dragon and the wood element. Children born in this year are believed to inherit characteristics such as charm, leadership, wisdom and a strong life spirit. Mr. Zhang, the Chinese metaphysics practitioner, explained how the birth of a Baby Dragon in the upcoming Year of the Wooden Dragon in 2024 is a rare phenomenon that should be carefully planned.
"According to Chinese zodiac calculations, the Year of the Wooden Dragon only occurs approximately once every 60 years. This opportunity should not be missed because Baby Dragons have legendary qualities associated with dragons, including strength, creativity, courage and charisma, making them likely to have a more successful and prosperous life in their old age," he said.
Chinese zodiac calculations vary widely, considering the year, month, day and even the hour of birth. Therefore, Mr. Zhang emphasized that for prospective parents who wished to give birth to a Baby Dragon, it was crucial not to delay and to start planning the birth as soon as possible to align with the Dragon zodiac.
RSIA Grand Family currently offers a special package for securing a Baby Dragon, which includes fertility screenings, insemination and IVF procedures to assist parents who wish to be blessed with the presence of a Baby Dragon.
