ecent data show that Indonesians have many challenges in maintaining a healthy diet. These include issues with consistency, inability to resist unhealthy foods and not monitoring calorie intake. The survey also indicated that 43 percent of respondents admitted to not always paying attention to their eating habits [1].
In response to this issue, PT AIA Financial (AIA), a prominent Indonesian life insurance company, through AIA Vitality, collaborated with Ranch Market and Farmers Market Group to organize the AIA Vitality Shopping Race & Healthy Cooking Show in Jakarta on Jan. 20. During this event, AIA customers, Life Planners and employees, were challenged to spend a voucher worth Rp 1 million on healthy items and find hidden items within five minutes.
Chief marketing officer of AIA Kathryn Parapak emphasized that encouraging physical activity alone was insufficient. Recognizing that support for a healthy diet plays a crucial role in maintaining health, AIA Vitality members can earn points by shopping for healthy food at Ranch Market and Farmers Market Group.
Beyond shopping, the event offered an educational experience on healthier habits. Guided by chef Jerry Andrean, winner of Masterchef Indonesia season 7, participants learned to recognize healthy food ingredients and the proper ways to prepare them.
AIA Vitality is a program that helps AIA customers adopt a healthier lifestyle by providing attractive rewards. With over 30,000 members, it has had a significant positive impact. Over 73 percent of members reported a reduction in blood glucose levels, 63 percent achieved healthier blood pressure, 33 percent reported a decrease in cholesterol levels and 13 percent achieved a healthier body mass index (BMI) [2].
Through the partnership, AIA customers can enjoy rewards, including AIA Vitality points and monthly discounts of up to Rp 100,000 when purchasing healthy food items like fruit and vegetables.
