he stage is set for AIA Indonesia's finest soccer talent to embark on a journey to London, where they will compete for the top position at the AIA Championship 2024. The seventh edition of this prestigious tournament was held from January - February 2024 for the local stage, culminating in the AIA Championship Final at the Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground in London on May 13.
Team AIA Indonesia is poised for victory, represented by seven of the nation's best players selected from a gruelling seven-week tournament. Under the leadership of coach Vennard Hutabarat, who led the team to a remarkable second-place finish last year, the team is determined to go one step further and claim the championship title.
"The AIA Championship is an annual competition that is regularly organized by AIA with the spirit of inspiring the community to actively engage in a healthy lifestyle through their most beloved sport, soccer. This competition provides an opportunity to hone and showcase the best of talent from each market where AIA operates, leading to the best teams competing in London at the Grand Final of the AIA Championship. We hope that AIA Indonesia team can fight to their utmost, achieve the best results, and take this opportunity as motivation to continue leading a healthy lifestyle," said Kathryn Parapak, chief marketing officer, AIA.
The AIA Championship Finals will see Team AIA Indonesia face off against top contenders from: Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Indonesia will face fierce competition in the group phase alongside Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Thailand.
In a thrilling showcase of soccer, Team AIA Indonesia will not only compete but also enjoy the privilege of attending two Tottenham Hotspur matches live, Tottenham Hotspur vs. Burnley in the English Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur Women vs. Manchester United Women in the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
With hearts full of passion, Team AIA Indonesia is ready to make its mark in London and inspire a nation. Last year, AIA Indonesia finished in second place in both the men’s and women’s categories of the AIA Championship. The team has striven to bring the grand trophy to our beloved country.
