okopedia, along with Gojek and GoTo, is gearing up to hold another Kelas Maju Digital (KMD) this year, after the success of the initiative last year.

This year, the class will be held from July to September and the company is confident that public enthusiasm will follow accompany the KMD webinar.

“We are optimistic that by providing an educational platform that is broad-minded, useful and, of course, easily accessible to micro, small and medium enterprise [MSME] actors, [we can help them] succeed in their own country," said Nafisah Wulandari, head of regional growth expansion at Tokopedia.

KMD is a part of the Bangkit Bersama program and focuses on teaching MSME actors how to strengthen their businesses. Last year, Tokopedia successfully educated more than 1,000 MSME actors in Jakarta, Central Java, West Java, East Java, Tangerang, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Bali and Nusa Tenggara.

“For this year’s KMD, Tokopedia is raising the topic of ‘Discovering the Secrets Behind Best-Seller Product Research and Innovation’. Here, sellers can learn how to understand their target market better, which will also affect the product innovations created. With the right research, it is hoped that sales can be maximized,” Nafisah said.

In addition, sellers will learn effective ways to run their businesses and how to optimize their social media channels and marketing to increase their sales.

Siti Juariyah, the owner of Jual Nori Online, was one of the many satisfied participants in last year’s KMD. She said she learned a lot from that year’s webinar with inspirational speakers.

“My experience attending KMD has changed my mindset. While I started as a salesperson, the program has now encouraged me to improve my skills as an entrepreneur. The successful MSME players who were presented also shared tips for success in running a business, which I can apply to further develop my shop,” she said.

“Tokopedia provides the biggest stage for business actors in Indonesia to adapt through the use of technology. We hope that the assistance and debriefing that we facilitate for free at KMD can help develop business and entrepreneurial competencies for local MSMEs in order to create a more independent national economy," Nafisah concluded.

The event will be held on three separate days: July 22, Aug. 31 and Sept. 30. It will include members of the Tokopedia Family Seller Community (KTOP) and the Gojek Retail Community (KONTAG) as speakers.
