anpower Minister Yassierli has assured that the state would oversee the payout of compensation owed to workers recently laid off by Surakarta-based textile giant PT Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) following a bankruptcy filing that has left more than 10,000 workers scrambling and the local economy severely weakened.

The compensation claims are to include old age benefits (JHT), unemployment benefits (JKP) and holiday allowances (THR), the minister revealed on Wednesday.

“Our current focus is ensuring the prompt disbursement of JKP and JHT, as these benefits are crucial for the affected workers,” Yassierli told a press conference in Jakarta, state news agency Antara reported.

The minister also highlighted President Prabowo Subianto’s recent decision to strengthen labor protections through Government Regulation (PP) No. 6/2025, which increases the JKP baseline to 60 percent of a worker’s last salary for six months, up from the previous metered mechanism laid out in the 2020 Job Creation Law.

“We will maximize the regulation’s implementation and set up assistance posts to help affected workers process their JHT and JKP claims,” Yassierli proclaimed.

“We’re also coordinating with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan [the Workers Social Security Agency] in Solo and local labor offices to ensure this process runs smoothly,” he said, referring to the common name of Surakarta, Central Java, where Sritex is located.
