Coffee is gaining a robust popularity nowadays, but tea also has dedicated fans. Many Indonesian businesses offer authentic teas to those interested in trying unique varieties, and some also support local farmers. The following are teahouses, boutiques and artisan brands that provide some of the country’s most soothing brews.
Havel Tea
Established in 2018, Havel Tea takes great pride in offering artisan teas that are expertly crafted, processed, blended and packed by local women who live near its factory. Guests can visit the Haveltea Pantjoran Pop-Up teahouse from Monday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or order its tea online from several marketplaces. Its premium-grade teas range from Rp 15,000 (US$0.99) to Rp 210,000.
Havilla Tea
Havilla Tea House, founded in 2014, tries its best to live up to its name: "a place where gold is found, rivers flow, and plants thrive". It primarily offers white, green, oolong and black tea. Guests can purchase its products on its official website havillatea.com or at multiple marketplaces, which are operational from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Its selection of teas ranges from Rp 95,000 to Rp 135,000.
