fter undergoing a strict judging process, Astra has announced the winners of the 2022 Lomba Foto Astra photography contest and the 2022 Anugerah Pewarta Astra writing competition with the theme Bangkit Bersama Untuk Indonesia (Rising Together for Indonesia) at the Astra Gallery in Menara Astra, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Held annually, the 2022 edition of Lomba Foto Astra and the Anugerah Pewarta Astra mark the 14th year of Lomba Foto Astra and the 8th year of Anugerah Pewarta Astra competitions.
This year, Lomba Foto Astra and Anugerah Pewarta Astra received a combined submission of 9,987 photos and 1,008 articles from a total of 3,097 participants in both the general public and journalist categories. After curating the submissions from both categories, the jury selected 84 winners for this year’s Lomba Foto Astra and Anugerah Pewarta Astra.
Astra's chief of corporate affairs Riza Deliansyah said the company welcomed the contestants’ enthusiasm, noting that the competitions saw a 63 percent increase in registrations for the number of photos and articles, which increased by almost four times compared with the previous year.
“Hopefully the submitted work can spread the message of enthusiasm to rise together to support Indonesia's recovery," he said.
The winners of the 2022 Lomba Foto Astra and Anugerah Pewarta Astra from both the general public and journalist categories received various attractive prizes in the form of a Honda PCX eHEV motorbike for the 1st place winners, a Honda ADV 160 motorbike for the 2nd place winners, a Honda Vario 160 motorbike for the 3rd place winners, the DJI Mavic Mini 2 drone for the runners-up and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet for the honorable mentions.
The juries of the 2022 Lomba Foto Astra Photo Contest and the 2022 Anugerah Pewarta Astra consist of experts in their respective fields.
Professional photographer Muhammad Fadli, a member of the Indonesian Photojournalists Association Advisory Board and Kontan head photo editor Hendra Suhara, and Astra Life head of digital marketing and branding Windy Riswantyo were the juries to evaluate the photographic work.
Meanwhile, the articles were judged by content creator Fellexandro Ruby, B Universe managing director Apreyvita Wulansari, and Astra Insurance SVP of communications and event and service management Laurentius Iwan Pranoto.
During the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, Muhammad Fadli and Fellexandro Ruby opened the session with a discussion. As representatives of the jury panel, they said the photo works and articles submitted were very diverse, with each category having its own strengths.
As part of the 2022 Lomba Foto Astra and Anugerah Pewarta Astra series of events, members of the public will also have the opportunity to view the winners’ work in person at the Astra Gallery from March 1 to 6, or through the online Virtual Astra Exhibition at virtualtour.astra.co.id.
The enthusiasm in appreciating those who spread the story of Indonesia's rise through photographs and writing is in line with Astra's aspiration to prosper with the nation and to support Indonesia's sustainable development goals.
