PNM revitalizes river, mitigates floods

A

mid increasing pollution of rivers and streams due to a lack of public awareness PNM is revitalizing rivers through a social responsibility program, particularly the Cideng River near the PNM headquarters.

Operational director of PNM Sunar Basuki explained the uniqueness of the clean-up program. This program is part of a series of activities for PNM’s 24th anniversary embodying the theme, “With Reality in Creation”. Some 100 PNM employees distributed 2,400 catfish larvae into the river.

“Through this program, PNM aspires to have a social impact that can educate the public, especially employees, to encourage a sense of care and urgency for cleanliness, and also actively participate in beautifying the environment that surrounds our office,” said Sunar during his speech on Monday.

.

According to him, the clean river will have multiple positive impacts, not just for the PNM employees but for the communities that reside near the river, leading to an improved quality of life. It was also pointed how numerous micro business customers assisted by PNM live along the river banks.

As a company whose pillar is a firm commitment to the common good, PNM has distributed more than Rp 24 trillion to customers and this lies at the heart of its continuing growth to inspire the community by supporting Indonesia’s achievement of its Sustainable Development Goals.

“Ultra-micro entrepreneurs have the right to access a healthier life. With that being said, they play a vital role in supplementing the economic family. It is with this hope that approaching its 24th year of age, our nation will feel inspired in numerous ways by PNM’s effort in achieving wider access to a better life,” closed Sunar.
