he renowned Morimoto Restaurant has opened its first branch in Southeast Asia at The Langham Hotel in Jakarta, presenting Japanese cuisine and an upscale dining experience.

Located on the 63rd floor, Morimoto Jakarta represents an exciting addition to the city’s dining scene with innovative cuisine and excellent service in a vibrant and dynamic city, set to serve up to 99 guests as well as one 16-person Private Dining Room for more intimacy.

At Morimoto Jakarta, a perfect dining experience is crafted by blending Japanese symbolism with contemporary craftsmanship. Its modern logo features two carp, symbolizing courage and determination, while the rising sun signifies renewal. Growth, prosperity and determination are represented through the patterns of Asanoha (hemp leaves) and Yagasuri/Yabane (arrows).

There are six designs that adorn the tables, emphasizing classic haiku calligraphy, promoting simplicity and the connection between mind and body. Here, tradition meets innovation and Japanese culture is celebrated in a fresh and exciting way.

Guests at Morimoto Jakarta will be able to savor the best of Japanese cuisine alongside the unique flavors and ingredients of Indonesia, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative tastes. Served in a sleek and contemporary atmosphere, the menu features a wide range of dishes, from small plates to seasonal specialties.

Helmed by Chef Masaharu Morimoto himself, known for his performance in the eminent TV show Iron Chef, Morimoto Jakarta aims to elevate the culinary perspective in Jakarta. Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s experience over the past 20 years will bring more adventurous and sophisticated flavors to diners.

Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s menu is expected to cater to the city of Jakarta with many exciting choices. Among the signature dishes are the following:

Toro Tartare: Nori, Sour cream, wasabi, tuna belly, dashi soy.

Tuna Pizza: Anchovy aioli, kalamata olives, red onion, jalapeño.

Ishi Yaki “Buri-Bap”: Yellowtail on rice cooked tableside in a hot stone.

Soy Braised Black Cod: Ginger soy reduction, Tokyo scallion.

A5 Ishiyaki: Japanese A5 wagyu beef with three signature sauces.
