xtravagant feasts have been ingrained in Indonesian culture since ancient times, long before the rise of the first known kingdoms. Among the various names used to describe these grand food rituals, mahamangsa in particular stands out, denoting "the food of kings." This term was prevalent during the reign of the ancient Mataram kingdom, the prominent Hindu-Buddhist realm that flourished from the eighth to 11th centuries, renowned for constructing awe-inspiring temples like Candi Borobudur and Candi Prambanan.

To showcase the immense richness of Indonesian gastronomy and to provide an unparalleled dining experience for its guests, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is collaborating with three legendary Indonesian food artisans and innovators.

For the month of July, the guest chef is the renowned Marinka, widely recognized as a judge on various highly popular food shows in the region, including MasterChef Indonesia, Junior MasterChef Indonesia and Iron Chef Indonesia. For August, chef Yuda Bustara, a talented kitchen wizard with numerous achievements and former host of Iron Chef Indonesia, will take the helm. Then in September, esteemed chef Degan Septoadji, a leading authority in the Indonesian cuisine scene and a Best Asian Chef nominee at the 2012 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, as well as a judge on the popular reality TV show MasterChef Indonesia, will be the guest chef.

This coming August, indulge in chef Yuda Bustara's delectable offerings, which feature Jimbaran-style grilled seafood and an exotic Riau-origin clear soup, among other delights. Chef Yuda's modern interpretations of classic Indonesian recipes are truly unique, and his profound knowledge of the culinary world of his homeland guarantees a deliciously memorable experience, with a diverse array of authentic Indonesian flavors to savor.
