ollowing the success of its predecessor, B/NDL Studios and The Jakarta Post hosted the second Knowledge Series, entitled "Unlocking the Secrets of Connections: Key Lessons from the Rules of Engagement" on July 7.
The monthly webinar aims to provide practical knowledge and insightful learning for working professionals and to serve as a valuable resource that can be utilized as tool for viewers’ personal and professional development.
For this session, the series is transformed into a dynamic and interactive workshop focused on equipping professionals with essential engagement and influence skills, and emphasizes the importance of effective engagement, building connections, as well as influencing decisions in today's competitive business landscape. Moreover, the 90-minute session was designed to provide practical tools, proven techniques, and actionable insights to enhance persuasive abilities for viewers.
The discussion was led by Wigra Hanafiah, a communications strategist and public speaking coach, a master at the art of communications. He has worked in marketing and corporate public relations for consumer goods and the energy sector, but his path has led him to help individuals to create and deliver impactful stories by being a public speaking coach.
Imparting his wisdom in communication, Wigra covered several points during his 90-minute session. Among other things, he discussed the elements needed to ensure an effective engagement, through active listening, objective setting, audience understanding and effective communication techniques.
The true meaning of active listening is attentively listening to others in order to ensure that all parties are on the same page. Objective setting involves setting clear goals to help guide the engagement efforts, to make sure that the point that needs to be highlighted gets across and is not misunderstood.
Furthermore, Wigra emphasized the need to know one’s audience, in order to be able to engage with them more effectively. Lastly, the use of effective communication techniques can tremendously build trust and enhance engagement.
The Knowledge Series is an invitation-only webinar that invites organizations and brands to give a presentation that equips working professionals with tools for self-improvement, both in their career and personal lives. The event is only open to B/NDL Studios' business-to-business network, active subscribers to The Jakarta Post and employees of both organizations . The next Knowledge Series Event will be held in August.
