n conjunction with the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence, leading global printing company Epson has proudly presented a series of products that go well with the country’s local content requirement (TKDN).

This has been a great stride that Epson has taken in supporting local industries, spurring technological innovations and bringing significant benefits to Indonesian people.

As part of Epson’s commitment to providing the best to Indonesia, validating the TKDN license is a crucial step in ensuring that Epson’s products do not only excel in making tangible contributions to the economy and sustainable state. Epson consistently integrates the TKDN into production process.

The TKDN serves as a primary basis for producing high-quality products with a competitive edge and also drives the independence of local industry. This is not only part of how Epson Indonesia has contributed to the state, especially when it comes to promoting the independence of domestic industrial sectors, but also evidence that Epson Indonesia has fulfilled the requirements that the government has set through TKDN certification.

Epson’s investment in Indonesia

Epson has cemented its close relationship with Indonesia through the investments that the company has made. Through the presence of its two plants in Indonesia, Epson has made real contributions to developing manufacturing and technology industry in Indonesia. The presence of PT Indonesia Epson Industry and PT Epson Batam demonstrates Epson Indonesia’s commitment to shoring up economic growth and empowering local industries.

Since the establishment of the plants in Indonesia, Epson has made significant investment in terms of brands, services, manpower, promotion and advertisements. This has become part of Epson’s expansion of investment in its market growth in Indonesia.

“Following the investment that Epson has made for the last 20 years, we’ve witnessed our continuous sales growth and have become a market leader in Indonesia,” Epson said in a statement.

Epson focuses sales on several market segments, with the demand for printer and scanner products from the corporate segment showing a fast-growing trend each year.

“Currently, the printer and solution businesses contribute 80 percent and 20 percent, respectively, and the remaining comes from projectors and other printer solutions,” the company said.

Apart from that, Epson also focuses on the ink and toner business. The need for printing, which has continued to increase, has created big potential for the ink and toner business. The potential has shown an increasing trend in line with people’s, especially printer users’, rising awareness that cartridges can be refilled, which leads to cost efficiency of up to 80 percent.

Enhancing human capital

Epson is a place for more than 10,000 employees in Indonesia.

“We do not only create job opportunities but also an environment conducive to the employee’s development and prosperity. With a solid and dedicated team, Epson strives to make positive contributions to the Indonesian people,” the company said.

Epson does not only bring sophisticated technologies to Indonesia but also invests in scaling up human capital capacity.  Currently, many talented product designers from Indonesia have obtained special training from Epson Global. This has spurred the growth of local talent, enhancing design capabilities and prompting the development of local talent and productive global collaboration.

Welcoming Indonesia’s future technology

The validated TKDN licenses cover a range of Epson’s excellent products, including those in the category of printing and scanners. Every product has gone through a tight validating process according to the TKDN regulation prevailing in Indonesia, ensuring that the primary components utilized in the products are supported by domestic industries.

Epson’s commitment to the quality and independence of local industries is clearly reflected in its range of products. Currently, customers in Indonesia can not only obtain cutting-edge technologies but also make direct contributions to economic development and job opportunities.

A number of Epson products have earned TKDN licenses. They include printers, scanners and ink. Epson products made in Indonesia sell well to meet both domestic and export markets.

Commitment to SDGs

Epson Indonesia has taken concrete steps to support several sustainable development goals (SDGs), namely Goal 8: decent work and economic growth, Goal 9: industry, innovation and infrastructure, Goal 12: responsible consumption and production, Goal 13: climate action and Goal 17: Partnership for the goals.

To advocate for the SDGs, Epson Indonesia conducted its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts through several activities, such as planting of 6,000 trees to support Goal 13 and in collaboration with a non-profit organization to conserve coral reefs to support Goal 17.

“Through the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day, we want to ask all parties to better understanding the importance of the TKDN to achieve the technology and economic independence. With the wider support and understanding, we can hand in hand to advance our industries and improve Indonesian people’s prosperity,” the company said.
